diaper question

my little boy is 5 days old and so far every single time he has a wet diaper it soaks through his clothes. I have 2 different diapers that I've tried but none prevent him from leaking through. I'm not sure if I should try to buy a more expensive brand of diapers and see if that works..or is it normal for a little boy to pee through his clothes ( Read more... )

We tried LUVS and Huggies first and they both leaked like crazy. Then we tried Pampers and he never leaks. I think it mostly just depends on your baby.

We use Huggies Supremes and have never had a problem.

I found Huggies to be the best with my son. They still leaked sometimes but not as much as the Pampers (Pampers sucked for us!) or Luvs. One thing I learned was to make sure the baby is always upright, cause if his crotch goes above his head, even by an inch, it will leak out and wind up all over his back or side. I recommend the Huggies too cause they have stretchy velcro tabs - wonderful things!

it happens, don't worry it's normal... try huggies or pampers...

Pampers Swaddlers - they are awesome. Our son never leaked in those. But he leaked like CRAZY in Pampers Baby Drys. Those are terrible, don't waste your money on them.

As for Huggies, the only Huggies we found worked well with our son is Huggies Supreme.

So I recommend Pampers Swaddlers (then Cruisers when he outgrows the Swaddlers) or Huggies Supreme.

And you can point his penis downward or at least some way so that it's not pointing up. You'll get leaks everytime unless you do some adjustment.
Even at 8 months we have to make sure to point our son's penis someway other than UP.

Our son leaked out the side no matter how I put the pampers brand diapers on him..his legs are extremely chunky so I think that the babys shape has a lot to do with it. Huggies must have the perfect shaped leak barriers (they have the double leak barrier things) on the sides for my sons body because I've never ever had a leak with them..plus I hate the sticky tape on pampers. So cruisers have that sticky tape or just velcro stuff? As his body changes I want to try other brands again to see if I still have problems
