Heh, the Anaheim/L.A./whatever Angels beat the Devil Rays on 6/6/06.

An old, long-overdue meme gakked from aivilo_18...

Music that has followed me from high school: I know that a lot of us took ourselves oh-so-seriously in high school, but that doesn't necessarily mean that we were listening to crap back then. Or that we can't still enjoy the crap we ( Read more... )

Oh, November Rain. I loved it and hated it it. The grungy clothes and the grungy guys but there was so much energy in that video.

"November Rain" is a hit or miss song for me because MTV would not stop playing the video. Seriously, it was on at least four times a day. And sometimes that song sounds overproduced to me, which is probably why I like "Don't Cry" more.

Plus, Axl beat the crap out of Stephanie Seymour (his then-RL & video girlfriend). Well, he beat the crap out of all his girlfriends... Might be why I was never a huge GNR fan ;)

Primus!!!! OMG the memories of seeing them in concert! Once, at a really small venue, I was in the "mosh pit" do.not.say.a.word. and I started to have an anxiety attack. It totally freaked me out because I was scared I was going to get stampeded like my friend Liz did at an AC/DC concert in Utah. :( Seriously, it was the last time I participated at a concert. From then on, it was observation only.
When I get home, I'm totally going to d/l all of these. You are so good to us!

Hee! Your secret's in the vault. Knowing about your Jane's love, I'm not surprised to hear about your Primus experience ;) I was always afraid of the pit because OMG, I cannot see a reason to get groped and trampled on by strangers. Now, if they were sexy strangers named Gale, Randy, Jared, Mike, Wenty...

Ah, don't you miss the days of Docs & flannel & genuine indie music, back when Winona Ryder was our hero? (Crap, I'm old!) Our generation would totally kick the current emo crop's asses!

I was going to e-mail you when I got to work, like, "OMG, where are you?!" Then I remembered that you were going on vacation or doing something big. (Or I'm just confused.) Have your parents moved yet? And any chance you'll be in Toronto around mid-July? ;)

Is the key to your vault peach schnapps?

Ha!!! What is it with you and peach Schnapps? ;)

Actually, my vault is like my "Things We'll [me & BF] Never Speak of Again" list. Like that male stripper in Vegas or the soon-to-be-married guy we made out with (sSeperately, of course). Oops.

I'll look later. I'm over Becks, though. (I think it's the hair.) Not even his desire to get a Michael Scoffield-like tattoo can win me back ;)

Ah! You are so awesome! You got L7's autographs! And Dre reminds you of AP English. You are the best kind of nerd ever!

Also, randomly, I was just listening to "Don't Cry" when I looked at this post, which is funny, because I haven't listened to GnR in years.

Hee, that line from "Give It Away" always reminds me of when the Chili Peppers were on The Simpsons and the network guy was trying to get them to change the lyrics. Paraphrased:

Flea: No way man, our lyrics are sacred!
Network Guy: We were just thinking you could change "What I got, I got to put it in you" to "What I'd like, is I'd like to hug and kiss you"
Flea: Oh, that's much better. Everyone can enjoy that!

Once I found out that Suzi Gardner was from Sacramento, I had to meet her. And, like a dork, I told her. Her advice: "Sweetie, get out & see the world as soon as you can." Which was nice, considering I thought she'd laugh at me. Donita did tell me that Suzi knew the kids in the RL story of River's Edge.

Dre reminds me of AP English because our teacher used to ask about current music: "Who's this rapper who's also a doctor? Dre-something? And what about this Loser guy, Beck?"

Music syngery! I'd forgotten how good "Don't Cry" sounds, especially since it's GNR.

Yay, Homerpalooza! I love that scene with Flea. I haven't seen it in awhile, but don't they also ask about the penis socks or flame helmets?

Hahahah. Actually, I think that Homerpalooza was a different episode. That one had The Smashing Pumpkins. The one with RHCP, I think they were playing for a Krusty Special. Or wait, maybe the Peppers were on twice? Too. many. episodes. *head explodes*

Ah, that's right. RHCP are in the one where Johnny Carson balances a piano on his hand (nose?). Doesn't Billy Corgan snark on Homer's durable beer gut? Then there's the Thanksgiving ep with R.E.M.: "Michael, no! That's not the R.E.M. way!"/"Wait, we can recycle those shards."

Dude, now I'll have to get out the DVDs when I get home, or I'll never be able to sleep.

Current Music: AMC/OLTL

We have yet to talk ABC soaps. :D Do you watch fairly regularly?

Heh, yep, we haven't talked soaps yet :)

I was raised on ABC soaps. I remember Jenny & Greg and Jessie & Angie; the old school Quartermains; and Viki's other personality. But I've been watching off & on, and I watched DOOL for awhile because OMG Eric Brady & live burials & devil Marlena!

I'm way behind on OLTL and GH. I missed a couple weeks of AMC, and suddenly Kendall loved what's-his-name with the accent & Aidan was gone & Ryan's weird brother, not!Cyril, showed up. I used to loathe Lily, so I felt horrible about that when I found out she's autistic ;)

Luckily, I recognize most of the AMC characters so I'm almost caught up. Sadly, I missed the Leo/Greenlea years :(

I was raised on ABC soaps.

Me too. Although I tune in to all three, OLTL is my favorite. I'm Todd's bitch. Always have been, always will be. Right now my other 'men' include Rex and David.

I watched DOOL in the Bo (Robert Kelker Kelly) and Billie (Lisa Rinna) days - which conveniently were also the Jensen Ackles days. I stopped watching around the time of Marlena's possession.

I really enjoy Lily on AMC. She's likely my favorite on that show. They recast her a few months ago when the actress was sick and it made me appreciate her all the more.

As for GH - I'm either hot or cold with it.
