Aww... I know what you mean about last Sunday. {{hugs}}
Although I don't know what my dad would be saying about the NBA finals (Dallas? WTF?) and the Larry Brown thing in general... I can say it would be quite snarky. Hells yeah. *g*

Great songs, though. 80s music calls for an 80s icon!

Gah, I'm so late in replying...

This is the first time in years that I cared less about the NBA finals. ITA about Dallas in the finals, mostly because I hate Mark Cuban and Dirk Nowitzski. But yay for karma keeping watch! That's what you get for mouthing off & kicking stationary bikes, Mark & Dirk!

This wasn't a year that I much cared about, either.
Did you hear Isaiah Friggin' Thomas is the new Knicks coach?
He has one year to pull them back together or he'll get fired.

Isaiah? Here's a tip: rent, do not buy! *g*
Gah, I can't stand him. I loathed him when he played for the Pistons... ugh, memories of Bill Laimbeer... and I've loathed everything he's done since then. Good luck, dude... not.

I met Isaiah a few years ago when I tagged along with our columnist (one of the first female NBA columnists!). I can't remember the year, but I think he was doing NBC halftime commentary & still dreaming about a world with the CBA. He seemed nice, but that smile couldn't hide his fakeness. Our columnist introduced him as her good friend Isaiah; he mentioned that they went way back. Later on, she said he's the type to smile to your face as he stabs you in the back, as she learned the hard way. Ouch! Since then, I've passive-aggressively wished him ill will ( ... )

First of all, I am probably unreasonably concerned about your enthusiasm for a cosmetic product whose name is a play on hard furniture polish, among other things. But hey, it's your life! *g*

Second, you totally win the Trent Reznor argument! Although I would have to say that "Closer" is about sex and Trent Reznor feeling lost, angry and destructive. Because every NIN song is about Trent Reznor feeling lost, angry and destructive. Other themes may arise extraneously.

Third, I love "Firestarter" but I wish I could get my hands on "Remedy", because I have my own memories involved with that one. I miss the Prodigy!

Fourth, thanks for the craque, dear!

OMG, so late. But better late than never, right?

Heh, I used to be leery of Benefit's prodcuts because of the names, but some of them are cute: the smudge-y eyeliner is Bad Gal, the bronzer is Hoola, the sparkly blush is Dallas. But She-laq really works! Though I'm a little freaked out by the gypsy lady on the packaging.

You know, I never thought of "The Downward Spiral" as a concept album until someone pointed it out a couple years ago. I just figured it was Trent being Trent. And yeah, all his songs are about being horny, angry, lost, and destructive. Ah, the good old days ;)

You're welcome! But I'm totally blanking out on "Remedy." Help?

Sorry for the late reply. I don't actually know if "remedy" was the name of the song or if "Poison" was, or something entirely different. All i can remember of the lyrics was "You got the poison, I got the remedy..." And then it goes into a bunch of stuff I can't understand. heh. I think it was the Prodigy...?

Man, now I won't be able to sleep until I figure out what song that is!

I'll post it when I find it ;)
