Kristen is probably the first person I met on LJ, back when I was new to QaF and still shy about renting gay softcore porn. We've since become great friends, and I owe my knowledge of Gale Harold's whereabouts and the births of gigantic celebrity babies to her

I'm lagging on all things internet & things that need to be made & mailed. Hopfeully, I'll get that done this week. And that's all I'm saying for now :)

I need something like that right now, because this has been one of those days... and I have a feeling it's going to be one of those weeks. Gah.
Heh, love 'The Shining' reference. Maybe I should use that icon? Ok, quick change from Amy to Jack.
(And stay out of Room 237... I think it was 237? Seriously, I can barely remember what my name is anymore!)
OK, one of these days, when things calm down a bit, I'm gonna do my infamous Stevie Nicks impersonation in a voice post!

Okay, is it just me or is this week already a monumental pain in the ass? I swear, there are so many damn tourists in the area, and none of them understand that the worst time to be on the freeway is during rush hour. Maybe they're hoping to see a shooting?
I've loved The Shining since I was around 9 or 10. (Though oddly enough, I've never read the book.) I love horror movies, but this one really stuck with me. I mean, I kind of like being the only here (for now) at night, but I'm starting to lose my mind. I swear I saw a figure at the end of the hall one night. I'll stop now that I've probably convinced you I'm crazy ;)
OMG, make that phone post!!!!

That movie actually made me start biting my nails again... and after we watched it? This guy who used to hang out with us thought it would be funny to creep around the house with a hatchet.
Not funny, dude.
About the book: Kubrick really changed very little and he used most of the original dialogue that King wrote. There was a mini-series version a few years ago with that guy from 'Wings'... Steven Weber? And *Rebecca DeMornay. I thought it was teh suck, but Stephen King allegedly liked it better than the Kubrick one. STFU, Stephen. You could publish your grocery list and it'd be a bestseller.
*I love Rebecca, but no one could be creepier and weirder that Shelley Duvall. De Mornay is just too sexy.
Oh, and BTW-- King once said on a talk show that when he wrote the chapter about Room 237... it was the first time he actually scared himself.
Heh...

I tried to watch the TV version. Then my brain said, "Hell no! Classics should not be remade!" I read that King hated Kubrick's film, which is insane because it's considered a psychological and horror classic. At least he had the courtesy to mouth off after Stanley died. Poor guy; he's praised as a genius, but once he dies there's a deluge of bitchy comments.
