Life is grand, but I just don't want to do a huge update. Here's a summary:
~Joined the IWW and went to a Human Rights Conference. Both are/were totally fucking awesome, and it feels good to know I'm keeping up with my political education.
~Last day of school before the holiday break today... won a poetry slam (lolz), saw Tale of Despereaux, and got a pound of Vermont Coffee Company Organic Dark Roast.
~I have the next 12 days off. FUCK YES.
~Miles is going to DC for Christmas, so he and I are having our own Christmas Eve and Christmas on the 26th and 27th, respectively. I'm really excited about it :)
~Lillie taught me to knit and I LOVE IT. I might even try to knit Miles a scarf for his birthday (Jan 19th).... I found a very simple, masculine pattern online
~Work is still WONDERFUL.
~Life is still wonderful!
Here's some FUN for you all!
1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING or using IMDb search or other search functions.
1.) "Today, there'd be fighting in the streets. But in 1972, it was more like dancing"
2.) "You have to do the best with what God gave you"
3.) "There's not a day goes by I don't feel regret. Not because I'm in here, or because you think I should. I look back on the way I was then: a young, stupid kid who committed that terrible crime. I want to talk to him. I want to try and talk some sense to him, tell him the way things are. But I can't. That kid's long gone and this old man is all that's left. I got to live with that."
4.) "I had two heart attacks, an abortion, did crack... while I was pregnant. Other than that, I'm fine. "
5.) "Ma chère mademoiselle. It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight. And now, we invite to relax, let us pull up a chair, as the dining room proudly presents... your dinner. "
6.) "Ta-da"
7.) "I don't want to survive. I want to LIVE!"
8.) "It is clear that I must find my other half. But is it a he or a she? What does this person look like? Identical to me? Or somehow complementary? Does my other half have what I don't? Did he get the looks? The luck? The love? Were we really separated forceably or did he just run off with the good stuff? Or did I? Will this person embarrass me? What about sex? Is that how we put ourselves back together again? Or can two people actually become one again? "
9.) "Don't get strung out by the way I look. Don't judge a book by its cover."
10.) "Self improvement is masturbation. Now self-destruction..."
11.) "Late at night my mind would come alive with voices and stories and friends as dear to me as any in the real world. I gave myself up to it, longing for transformation."
12.) "You're a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot."
13.) "Look, just let me go in there, and face the peril!" "No, it's too perilous!"
14.) "This is so bad it's gone past good and back to bad again."
15.) "For as long as I can remember, I've been searching for something, some reason why we're here. What are we doing here? Who are we? If this is a chance to find out even just a little part of that answer... I don't know, I think it's worth a human life. Don't you?"
Have at it, y'all.
