In general, I think this is good advice. I'd also add that one should try to bring down a fever that's not terribly high, say 39 or so, but has lasted for more than 24 hours.
I also don't think it's unreasonable to give tylenol or ibuprofen to a child whose fever is brought down by baths, but shoots back up as soon as he or she is dry.
YES! BURN BABY BURN! i remember my doctor telling us not to worry unless the fever hits 103 and stays that way for more than an hour. i was like, "WHAT!?" because at the time, i had no idea. i did some research and discovered it really is best to let the fever do its job. the trouble we've had though, is that often a fever is accompanied by pain. and we don't want to let him suffer needlessly. so what do we do? all the pain meds are also fever meds... need holistic ideas!

Whenever I hear a parent freak out over a fever, it upsets me to my core. FEVERS ARE GOOD! THEY OUR BODIES WAY OF BURNING OUT TOXINS!
But then again, we're a society of people who even hate to sweat when they work out...no wonder we're so fucking sick!
