Everyone looks as summer as a time to kick back with your friends but what the summer does is pull people alway from eachother. It's not a bad thing but I dont think people realize how much independence they gain from the summer away from their circle of friends who they talk to non stop during the school year. You basically took the words right out of my mouth, dear.

I know what you mean, about people thinking of the friends and family they're leaving, but I think in the end it really does just boil down to what YOU want to do. A safe bet might be to try and find a school not TOO too far away (Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New York, etc.), so that you can at least come home for a long weekend or something.
And we still need to make that whole "see-each-other-before-school-starts" thing happen.

oh my gosh i love this entry. i couldnt have said it better myself. i do believe that independance is a good thing, sometimes its all you have. just you. "Will the independence I've been wanting forever suddenly seem like too much?"
