people are subjugating their basic brain functions for the sake of a false sense of "safety".

so, rather than saying "oh, that's interesting, I wonder what it is..." they instead bring themselves to the wonderfully absurd conclusion of "oh my god, something i don't understand, it much be a threat to national security."
