My mom went into labor on Mother's Day in 1987. I wasn't actually born until the next day, but I think it's sort of a shame that my mother and I aren't close even with that seemingly divine coincidence. We still get together on Mother's Day to celebrate both that holiday and my birthday; that tradition will be observed tomorrow

I forgot that you have nearly the same birthday as my dad (and a week before my brother).

I considered a well worn line stolen from the inside of a card like: Wishing you all the best on your special day

but instead decided with a birthday greeting involving monkeys and mildly insulting zoo references.
