Out of curiosity, why do you need Python?

well, right now, because i sometimes deal with large(ish) amounts of data that need to be combed in various ways.

but in a previous lifetime as a praater i would frequently use it to manipulate textgrids, the files praat uses to store text data, and also to comb through databases to find words to use in my studies based on certain criteria. and a few other fun things now and then.

and i haven't given up that passion for phonetics, and at some point i may be reincarnated as a phonetician.

was worried about you. glad to hear you're just busy, and not dead or locked up. hope work gets less overwhelming overtime!
