29th week checkup

Just came back from the doctor today for my 29th week checkup.  My blood pressure is fine; So is the baby's heartbeat.  He's measuring fine and the doctor is always amazed to see my uterus is "soft".  I think it's pretty hard myself but I'm not sure what that means.  Hehe.  I guess it's a good thing - the way how he says it.  From now on, my doctor ( Read more... )

My friend's a week ahead of me and you're a week after and you guys are both seeing the dr once every 2 wks. But I'm high risk and I'm seeing dr every 3. I think they've got me on the wrong schedule. I better check with them.
I like how you said the baby is "rummaging" around on your left side. That's funny. Are you feeling braxton hicks yet? When the belly gets rock hard? At first I just thought it was the baby getting cozy in there, but I found out they were contractions. Good thing they don't hurt yet.

hi judy!

i think once you get to the 3rd trimester, you start going every 2 weeks. but it's always good to check! i'm not sure if i'm feeling braxton hicks yet. i can't really tell when the baby's hiccuping either. but i do feel kicks and weird grinding movements in my pelvis. when i'm standing, it always feels as if my belly is rock hard so i can't tell what's going on in there. how does it feel like?

hm... the only way i can describe it is that it gets really hard and when you press on it, there's no give. it only lasts for a maybe 10 - 20 seconds. i wonder what the baby feels when it does that.

Is Meanie really sure he wants to do that? heheheehe he can be enthusiastic now but when the time comes he'd be grumbling in pain thats for sure heheheheehe i sure enjoy reading your baby updates and also as one of your loyal readers ^_^ im so excited for your day to come woot woot! Have you & Meanie start preparing and practising for that day's drill? I think its a good idea to stay indoors really what with this epidemic spreading like mad! its good you're taking precautions too, i just cant believe a flu like this could take lives! It just makes you wonder what causes this? from bird flu to mad cow disease then there was the SARS *sigh*

Hi there,
I don't know if you remember me but we spoke awhile ago when I was home after having my baby boy. He's now 4 years old and I miss those early days. Don't worry about the labor cause once they give you the medicine you won't feel a thing. It's the contractions before you get to the hospital that are killer. Get your sleep now and I wish for you the best.

hello! i do remember you. how are you doing these days? are you planning to have any more kids? definitely not looking forward to the contractions. i heard there are pre-epidural drugs you can take or analgesics but again, that depends on your doctor. thanks!

Yes and no. In addition to my little boy I have a little girl now but we are finish. I have two hands so two kids are enough for me. I have not heard about the pre-epidural drugs but the best thing is to try and stay home for as long as you could handle it. It was a lot more comfortable. When I got to the hospital I was tired and sleepy but it was so noisy and the nurses check-up on me like every 20 minutes so I didn't get any rest.

Awww, you have one of each! That's really great. Congrats to you and your hubby! That's what the doula recommended - staying home as long as you can and then getting to the hospital when the contractions are 5 minutes apart. Thanks for the advice!

yes! i crave for rice and bread. noodles and pasta not so much. actually come to think of it, i haven't had any huge cravings lately. if anything, it's something cold like ice cream or italian ice. that's my constant craving. i'll need to cut down on that too! blah!
