Anime Talk
I haven't done one of these for awhile so let's talk anime!!! There is a new season upon us filled with goodies... well, some. Other than FMA, nothing has leapt out and said watch me watch me but its not all bad... and FMA... well...
Meaning of FMA, lets start with that!
Fullmetal Alchemist
Its our old friend but based on the manga this time.. or more like the manga. So far I'm noticing the animation to be all over the map. Roy looks like manga Roy. Hughes looks like an odd combo of manga and anime. I'm partial to anime Hughes but I got use to manga Hughes. I'm glad the original Ed and Al voices came back. I love Romi Paku's voice. She sounds great as a woman and a man. Its so funny to me but I like her voice. Story-wise I feel like they are trying too hard and need to focus. The first ep wasn't horrible but I can see why a friend of mine thought it was too comical. It was also too much too soon in a way. Or maybe I'm just know the story too well. The story should get better and even out. Its a keeper regardless. For some reason I'm not liking the opening and closing songs as much as the old series. I feel like playing one of the old songs instead. Its probably the messing with perfection thing even though I know the manga story is great.
And I was glad to be out of the massive FMA fandom years. I could be old school with my theme mood and icons and now they are in again. *sigh* Might need to come up with more old shows to show off. But, then again, I still drool a bit over Hughes... and Roy... and Havoc. DAMN!!
Bleach... Oh wait! That's not new. I'm SO glad this short corny side story is over!! And the secondary characters in the English dub still make me want to hurt someone. And Renji should always be muted. Still like English Rukia better though.
07-Ghost
Saw one ep. No clue what's going on and why its important that I watch the next one. Really confused but I'll give it one more chance.
Eden of East
Certainly an interesting beginning. Has some promise. Not earthshattering and I badly need to watch the next one but I'll check it out.
Hanasakeru Seishounen
Boring first ep. Think its basically fluff but I see where it might be going and sometimes you need mindless anime if its good. One more chance. Oh, and does have pretty boys in it.
K-ON
I didn't think I'd like it. I watched the first ep and was very so-so about it. Watched second ep and am thinking it might be an Azumanga Daioh-like replacement but without the things that make Azumanga Daioh insanely random. That probably makes no sense but I'm going with it. Going to watch more.
Pandora Hearts
Well, I read a review on this show and I have to agree that they tried to go all over the place with this one. It went from normal type stuff to wacky wacky what the heck stuff. Not sure what to think of it. Eyecandy is a Blond Hughes with a ponytail. Okay he's not really the eyecandy but its a blonde Hughes-like character... but, yes, I like the original better.
Phantom
Its by the people who brought us NOIR. Music is VERY similar. Music done by the same group. :P Memory loss thing again with one character. Guns and killing again. Weird reason they kill people again. Its different but oh so similar. I liked NOIR up till the end so I'll give this one a chance.
Sengoku BASARA
Um... need another episode or two for this one. Lots and lots of crazy fighting. Lots of characters. Lots and lots and lots of fighting. Um... we'll see.
Shangri-la
Not sure what I think of this one. Nothing stands out positively or negatively about it.
Toaru Majutsu no Index
Oh wait. Also from last season. Never finished it. Trying to see if I should give up or continue with it.

Let's see... it survived a couple of seconds over 4 minutes before I stopped watching and trashed the file.
...and won't someone finish fansubbing Mouryou no Hako!!!! And I've decided that soft subs are okay IF they are clean. Meaning they don't have notes to other subbers or editors in them and that the subs don't overlap that much. Otherwise I hate the things.
This has been a BabyGhia anime moment. We'll see you next time... or some long long time from now because I rarely do these.
