First year of college...what do you remember?

School:
Appalachian State University, Boone NC

Where did you live?
217 Frank. good times.

Who was/were your roommate(s)?
Ashley Brooke Posey

Do you still talk to them?
Nope. We were roommates freshman and sophomore year and by the end of it things were tense and it was time for us to go our separate ways. Same thing with my junior/senior roommate, Lauren, too. Hmmmm....

Ever get in trouble in the dorms?
Not really freshman year. We were pretty tame that year!

Something you remember about when you first lived on campus.
Sharing a showers with like 20 other people was really unnerving...like walking down the hall in your bathrobe carrying your shampoo. Hahaha.

Your campus phone number or other number
828.266.8158 maybe? All on campus is 828.266. so I'm guessing the 8158 part!

First party attended?
Wow. Uhm. Pike maybe? Ashley's boyfriend rushed so yeah, Pike party.

First Bar you got wasted at?
See ASU doesn't have liquor by the drink. You can go to a bar and get a beer or a glass of wine but that's it. Therefore, there are not many bars in the town so there's more parties and such than going "out drinking." And, if you do go out for beers, they are very very strict about watching who is drinking. So, to answer the question, I probably wasn't wasted at a bar till my 21st birthday at Champps's in Charlotte.

Favorite place to go out to eat?
Tuckers or Hokkaido. Oh hells yeah.

Did you go to the library?
Occasionally. I'm more of a middle-of-the-night person so I spent a lot of study time in the lounges on the hall.

What was your Favorite Floor you'd always be on?
I didn't really know a lot of the other people in my hall so I spent most of my Frank time on 2. Spent a lot of Bowie time on 4, David's floor. And Gardner, Chad's dorm, on 2. He was room 217 too!

Club, Athletics, Frat or Sororities, you joined?
I joined Alpha Phi Omega second semester freshman year. Jessica and I tried to do swim team but it didn't really work out. Oh! I was also on the radio staff. We got to hear all the music before it went on the air to see if we liked it. Later on I did RSA and NRHH.

Where did you buy your books?
The bookstore.

Who made the best wings?
Dellories! Didn't discover that place till senior year though.

Ever attend a sporting event?
All the home football games. Some rec league stuff since my friends were involved.

Ever attend a concert or comedic performance?
I dont remember what years stuff happened but I went to a ton of shows. Weekend Excursion, One Year Later, John Mayer (for $10, one week before his song hit #1), Lifehouse, Nickle Creek, the hypnotist, ZoSo, and, of course, Jennifer Nettles Band!!!

Have you ever spent the night on campus not in your dorm hall?
uhhhh...yeah...

Favorite night to go out on, and where did you go?
Senior year we had a place for each night based on the specials. Monday was Dellories. Tuesday was Macados after APO. Wednesday was Los Arcoiris. Thursday was The Spot. Friday was Big City Drink Night.

Where did you get coffee?
Tradewinds in the Student Union.

Favorite Year of Halloween?
We had a party at Brian's place junior year. I was a cowgirl. David was a pimp. Brian was himself. Or senior year I went to Blowing Rock with Davida, Chad and a few other people. I just remember looking hotttt.

Go see a play or been in one?
Nope. I was in David's movie though.

Did you ever have a job at school?
Chick-Fil-A. Catering.

What do you hate about your college?
The snow sucked sometimes. I remember a bunch of times where people were non-commital. "Yeah I'll do that!!!!!" and then punk out kinda stuff. And the parking nazis. And the English advising department. They're all damned to hell.

What did you love most about it?
The fact that I got to be involved in 2 organizations that were floundering, add in my blood, sweat and tears, and, by the time I left, they were beautiful envied groups. I loved my friends. My senior year was the best 4 months of my life. Also, the mountains were gorgeous. You're walking between classes on a postcard it seemed. Just beautiful.

Ever leave to go on a road trip, where?
Alexandia VA, Charleston, and chasing Jennifer Nettles to Asheville, Charlotte and whenever else she played.

Where would you believe is the best location to live in?
I'm pretty fond of App Heights.

Graduated or still attending?
"graduated" in December 2002. Received Diploma in the mail May 2003.

Will you go back?
to visit....of course.
