given: a = b +  c

if we we're to transpose 'c' to the other side...

b + c - a = 0

since 'b + c - a' is '0', cancelling it by itself would be impossible...
and since anything multiplied by '0' is '0', the resulting equation would come out as '0 = 0' not '4 = 5'
