After careful thought and consideration, I am dropping out of LJ Idol. I am doing this for a variety of reasons, including responsibilities outside of the box that is the computer world, but specifically because I don't think that the majority of what is going on within this so called "competition" is fair. I'm sorry that Idol has been a disappointing experience for you.

I have dropped you off my reading list for the moment, but it's not due to ill will. I had stated at the start of this season's contest that I would be doing so when contestants dropped out or were eliminated, due to my own time constraints, back in this entry.

I'm glad that you have decided to leave now instead of getting even more aggrivated. But I have a question (okay, two)... Why did you decide to join if you saw problems last season? Why didn't you just decide to play the home games to get your creative juices going instead of having to worry about the drama?

I chat in the green rooms because I actually know some of them IRL. I chat with the new people because I want them to feel welcome. I want the newbies to know that I'm always willing to help them with a question or problem.

I'll miss being able to read your entries (as I thought your intro was fantastic). Good luck with the kids at church!

Honestly, I thought that maybe after the drama last year, that things would have changed. I thought I would give it a shot. I did so, and unfortunately, it didn't work out. But I would rather get out now than wait because waiting would only irritate me more. But thanks for the kind words -- I'm sure I might still hear about some of the topics, since many on my friends list are still in the competition. I may write on those topics from time to time, feel free to stop by!
