I ran over an armadillo last night.  :(  The car in front of me hit it and it came spinning towards me too fast to miss.  I'm pretty sure that it was my car that dealt the killing blow, though.  :(

I frequently stop and check on dead things in the road (regardless of whether or not I was the one that hit them) because I hate the idea of an animal

Armadillos are indeed pretty awesome. They apparently don't hear or see very well, so you can walk right up to them when you find one. They do carry leprosy, though, so it's probably a good idea not to have moved it.

I saw one at the zoo once. He couldn't decide where he wanted to go so he kept walking around in circles. His legs were moving really fast.

Didn't you write a story in HS about am armadillo and Luigi the wildebeest? It just seems like one of the off-the-wall animals you used.

Nah, Luigi didn't hang out with any armadillos. He was kind of a loner. ;)
