Hey there. Hope you don't mind me chiming in as I'm still in that emo state of mind mourning Laura and A/R. I knew her death was coming because like what are the odds that she'd make it, but it still broke my heart when it happened. Her getting to see the 'promised land' was more than I had hoped for and I was happy she had this last piece of happiness, but actually seeing her die and the scene of Bill 'reading' to her by her grave just killed me ( ... )

or at least she'd gotten more to do as the 'dying leader'.

Ah, but I don't believe she is the dying leader. Pythia wrote that the anointed leader would never see the 'promised land'. She also wrote that the anointed leader was dying of "a wasting illness".

"And the Lords anointed a leader to guide the caravan of the heavens to their new homeland. And unto the leader, they gave a vision of serpents, numbering two and ten, as a sign of things to come."

Pythia foretells of an initial battle in which the Colonials are "led by serpents two and ten" and are victorious over their foes.

The Hybrid from the rebel Cylon's ship prophesies that the "dying leader shall know the truth of the Opera House".

So:

"And the Lords anointed a leader to guide the caravan of the heavens to their new homeland. Leading the caravan: Galactica.

And unto the leader, they gave a vision of serpents, numbering two and ten, as a sign of things to come." The fleet is forced to attack a Cylon base in order to obtain fuel. The attack is lead by twelve Vipers ( ... )

No no, the settlement thing pissed me off too!! how EXACTLY does putting them in smaller Colonyesque groups give them a better chance? Lee just spent like an episode saying they needed to forget the old Colonial ways and start new - one civilisation in one place would have done that. And made WAY more sense.

Yeah and the 150,000 things was RIDICULOUS

Hahahaha, my cousin and I choose to believe it was a typo. It was meant to be 15,000 years and someone fucked up.

Awesome clearly runs in your family. And I'm unclear as to how a community - one half of which ARE machines - had to give up technology.

The Opera House. I think my eyes bugged out of my head when I realised what was happening. And the shot of the final five was EPIC.

I'm still not over how awesome that was. The shot of the Final Five had me flailing in my seat. So frakkin' good!

Also not a big fan of the ending but at the same time it doesn't bother me all that much. I think that's how I feel about most of the stuff I disliked. Disliked, but I'm not dwelling on it because the stuff I did like, I absolutely loved. Maybe it's because the only other show I have ever fangirled and watched from pilot to finale was XF and the way that turned out was horrid so I'm more than satisfied with the way this ended.

Bill/Laura - that still breaks my heart every time I think about it. I don't think I'll be able to re-watch those scenes for a while.

Sorta random question. Do you think you'll continue writing now that the series is over?

Totally meant to say loooooooooooads more LOL.

Yeah the ending wasn't exceptionally awesome BUT it WAS better than a lot of shows and how they go out. I was an XF fan too - watched from start to end (and I'm gonna be blasphemous and say that AR pwns MSR by 23428423424 cylon percents) and I watched Alias beginning to end and say plots and characters murdered for weakass nonstorytelling. So in comparison BSG was astounding. I guess my problem is that BSG hasn't been about the comparison for me before. Its always been so above other shows and been schooling them on how its done and I don't feel like the end kept that up.

I console myself with the Bill/Laura stuff by continuously rewatch the 2 seconds of her calling him Honey. Cos that melts my heart every.frakking.time
