Happy Late Anniversary, Taka-Hana!

(And...I'm late again. I, er, blame the World Cup. Yes.)

Happy Retirement Anniversary, Taka-chan and Hana-chan! :D

On Saturday 2nd July, it was the 4th anniversary of their leaving Takarazuka, if you can believe it.

Well, as you can probably guess, this is a scene from Dietrich! It's from Act II, when Marlene visits Edith in her dressing room in New York, and Edith playfully throws her shawl around Marlene and catches her. Since Taka-Hana have finally returned to the stage together (not counting dinner shows), it seemed only right to draw something from Dietrich. It's quite interesting too, in showing Taka-chan's transmutation into a lady over the last four years. :)

I'm nowhere near 100% happy with this pic, but I don't think I can bear to look at it any longer. Gah. All the things that are wrong keep jumping out at me. But the thing is I had no photo of this exact moment to go on, just memory and a couple of stage photos of different points in the same scene - that and I'm rubbish at digital painting, so it's a bit rough around the edges...

ETA: Made a couple of small tweaks - made Taka-chan a bit less horrifically thin and toned the skin colour down some. Hopefully they look slightly more human now. ;)

P.S: The really scary part is, Taka-Hana left four years ago - during the last World Cup. And the day before the tragic event of their retirement, I may or may not have been celebrating France's victory over Brazil in the quarter final...
