Quorra is standing in the rain, holding her coat wrapped tightly around her and a newspaper over her head as a pseudo-umbrella (it’s not working very well). She darts between the overhangs of buildings whenever there is one, but otherwise, it’s a walk in the rain, and it’s probably getting a bit dark out ( Read more... )

He's the first to notice she's gone - one moment there and another moment not when Sam comes back to check up on her. And he can't help the panic that rises up inside of him, he's not going to lose anyone else if he can help it. And maybe he can't do much being the new kid on the block with a father that abandoned the Force (and all the expectations that come with being the Son of Flynn; he didn't want any of that) but he can keep an eye on the last remaining link to his father ( ... )

She hears someone coming and turns around just as an umbrella appears over her head. Trying to bite back a sheepish grin, she lowers the newspaper (which was nothing more than a soggy mess at this point).

"I did," she says. "For... a little while."

Out of all the law officers, Quorra liked Sam best, so she wasn't all that annoyed to see him--if anyone had to catch up with her, she was glad it was him. And she had stayed put initially, but in the busyness of the evening, she felt a quick step outside and a look around wouldn't hurt.

He doesn't make a movement to bring her in or anything like that - Sam likes to think he understands. He just has to keep an eye on her, he'd hate to think what the guys at work would think if he lost her. Probably that he was just like his old man, that he let her go.

"You could've said you wanted a walk."

But he's smiling down at her, like he can't help it. Not that he actually can, Quorra is just that sort of person.

She smiles a little back, but she looks a bit unsure. "I didn't think they'd let me."

The moment she placed herself under police supervision, she so rarely had been without it, and sparing someone for a walk seemed an impossibility. So Quorra hadn't bothered asking, taking it upon herself to just... go. It might have not been the best idea, but it wasn't doing herself any good just sitting at the station either. She wasn't all that fond of being guarded practically 24/7, too, as much as she understood the need for it.
