Dated Update

May 27, 2008 12:37

How is it possible that I haven't updated since February? Time is literally flying by. But that's not an excuse. Without further ado, here's another real update:

We had 2 doctor visits in the time between the last update and now. Ryan's officially caught up on his vaccinations. He was 17 lbs, 10 oz and 27.5" long on February 28 (with clothes on). He was 17 lbs, 9 oz and 28" long (I think she mis-measured, however) on March 28. His two bottom front teeth are in (in case you couldn't tell from pictures) and his two top front teeth are working their way in (based on how swollen his gums are). He's putting EVERYTHING in his mouth because of this. I know that he must be much bigger by now. He definitely feels heavier and looks bigger.

He started solid foods. He was 3 days shy of 6 months old (so, March 15). For anyone who knows anything about Atlanta events, that was the day after the tornado tore through downtown. It's a strange way to remember the day but effective, nonetheless. All he had was some rice cereal but it was dually recorded on both video and in pictures. Since that eventful day, he's tried pears, apples, sweet potato, bananas, green beans, winter squash, oatmeal, and apple juice. The fruit has gone over really well but the vegetables (with exception of the sweet potato) has not. I guess that's common? He also got really pink cheeks after the apple juice. His doctor said not to worry about juice until after he's 9 months if at all. She said that she prefers kids have water. We'll see. I figured out yesterday that Ryan REALLY likes when I make his food myself. Looks like I'll be doing more of that. It's much cheaper anyway.

Picture of the aftermath from his first solid food experience.

He started crawling (forwards) on April 15.

This update is actually from a while ago (probably the beginning of May?) but I wanted to post it anyway. I'll post another new update in a new post next.
