Inverse Rules
taehwa is a spazz, kihyun is evil, crack happens.
It started like this.
Taehwa ran out of the kitchen with cranberry juice in his hands and Lio on his tail, and Kihyun's favorite shirt fell victim to the relentless arc of bright red juice. Taehwa's mouth dropped open, as he stumbled back, shock and horror and fear on his face.
"It's okay," Kihyun says, smiling, in a manner that implied it was very very far from any realm of 'okay'.
"Pleasedon'thurtme," Taehwa whimpered, "I'll uh--buy you a new shirt." Kihyun was still smiling. "You can have my next paycheck?"
"It's okay," Kihyun repeated, his expression unchanged, "no need," patting Taehwa gently on the head before wandering back into his room to change.
"You're dead," Lio said in awe, staring at Kihyun's closed door, "nice knowing you."
Taehwa whimpered, and wondered if it was too late to flee the continent.
*
Kihyun remained locked in his room for the rest of the day, while Taehwa decided that if he was going to die a horrible painful death, he might as well enjoy his last day on earth, and dragged Lio out with him.
"Maybe if I buy him a new shirt, he won't kill me," Taehwa mused, offering Lio some of his bright green slushie.
"Maybe if you weren't such a klutz, Kihyun wouldn't be plotting your death," Lio shot back, rolling his eyes.
Taehwa sighed dejectedly, and wondered if he should call his parents, seeing as he'd never be seeing them again.
*
The next morning, Taehwa woke up to the sun streaming into his room. The skies were blue, the birds were chirping. Maybe Kihyun had forgiven him after all, Taehwa thought, grabbing his towel off the hanger and heading into the bathroom.
Only...when Taehwa turned to face the mirror, he immediately dropped everything on the floor and stared at his reflection in absolute horror. His shoulders were leaner--which would explain why his shirt had fallen off earlier--his hips were wider, and most importantly he had boobs.
Taehwa stared. And stared some more. There was no question about it--sometime during the night, he'd turned into a girl. Taehwa did the only logical thing he could think of at that point.
He screamed.
*
"I'm a girl!" Taehwa shrieked, dashing out of the bathroom, only to run into Lio, going down in a tangle of slender limbs and smooth skin. Taehwa blinked, Lio's chest a lot softer than he remembered it being the last time he'd tackled Lio to the floor--"you're a girl too!"
"Yeah," Lio said shortly, narrowing his--her?--eyes, "I hate you."
"Kihyun!" Ryu shouted, stumbling out of his own room, staring at both Taehwa, who was still half-naked, and Lio, who looked like he was going to bite Taehwa's hand off.
Kihyun's door opened to reveal a slightly disheveled Kihyun, his full lips and large eyes made even more unproportional by his now incredibly angled face. "Oh. Well. This is unexpected."
"You didn't do this?" Ryu asked, while Taehwa and sputtered, mumbling something through Lio's hand that sounded distinctly like who else could've--.
"It was only supposed to be Taehwa," Kihyun said levelly, and closed the door again.
*
Hwichan rushed out of Kihyun's room in a panic, and grabbed onto Ryu's arm.
"Ohmygod why are we all girls?! Does it have anything to do with all the weird symbols Kihyun's been drawing on his walls in red paint?"
Taehwa blinked carefully at Kihyun's closed door, Hwichan's state of undress, and decided he really didn't want to know.
"Are you sure it's red paint and not blood?" Lio asked tartly, arching his fine eyebrows, just as Chris wandered out of his room and stared at them--Taehwa still tangled with Lio on the floor, Ryu rubbing his temples in pain, Hwichan wearing only a too-large t-shirt hanging to his knees.
Chris's eyes widened, and his mouth dropped open, but Ryu had a hand over it before anyone else started screaming.
*
"Taehwa--" Ryu started, still holding Chris around the shoulders, as they all sat in the living room (Ryu and Chris sharing the couch, Lio braiding Hwichan's hair in the loveseat, Taehwa left to take the floor) trying to figure out their next course of action.
"I tried apologizing! I asked him if he wanted my next paycheck! I don't know what else to do!" Taehwa whimpered, clutching his towel.
"Just--go in there and beg for mercy," Lio snapped, and Hwichan yelped as he tugged too hard on a strand of long black hair. "Maybe he'll accept you as a sacrifice, and save us the trouble of killing you ourselves, since this is all your fault."
"But--"
"Go," everyone said, and so Taehwa wound up knocking hesitantly at Kihyun's door.
*
"K-Kihyun?" Taehwa asked nervously, wondering if it wouldn't be safer to just take the next plane
"Come in."
Taehwa swallowed repeatedly, carefully turning the knob and peering into the dark recesses of Kihyun's room. The blinds were closed, and there was barely any light, except for a few candles littered around the room. In the center of the floor, there was a large pattern drawn in what looked like charcoal, spiraling designs that spread in intricate flowering letters.
"Oh. Wow."
"Pretty, isn't it?" Kihyun said genially, indicating that Taehwa should sit down in the center of the circle.
"Do I have to?" Taehwa asked, eyeing the lines warily--being a girl was bad enough, what if Kihyun tried to change him into a bug?!
"Or, you could wear that skirt and go outside--"
Taehwa sat down.
*
"So," Taehwa said, as Kihyun ignored him in favor of reaching for a bowl of suspiciously red liquid which did not in any way smell like the plaster-antiseptic tang of paint, but at least it didn't smell like blood either.
"Close your eyes," Kihyun said, and smoothed fingertips over Taehwa's eyelids, round circles at his temples, the cut of Kihyun's nails gentle over his cheekbones. Kihyun blew carefully on the designs to dry them, and Taehwa tried not to shiver as Kihyun's long hair brushed over his shoulders, Kihyun's hands braced on Taehwa's crossed knees.
Taehwa opened his eyes carefully, only to find himself staring into Kihyun's wide eyes and thick lashes. "Mmpfh!" Taehwa shouted, as Kihyun's mouth covered his own, and Taehwa wound up flat on his back, Kihyun's fingertips working up his thighs.
"Mmm," Kihyun murmured softly, "I suppose I forgive you," as Taehwa gasped and tried very very hard to think of things that weren't Kihyun reaching between his legs and--
*
Taehwa woke up with a crick in his neck, his hands covered in black chalkdust, and his face went a complete red as he remembered why he was on the floor.
"K-kihyun! W-w-what!!!"
Kihyun opened one eye slowly, and reached a hand out to Taehwa's collarbones, dragging his knuckles down Taehwa's chest as Taehwa couldn't seem to decide between running away and--
"Oh good, it worked," Kihyun said, tracing a hand all the way down Taehwa's flat chest, then pushed at Taehwa with his feet, "you can leave now."
Taehwa spluttered, only to have Kihyun's door slammed in his face.
*
The end!
