Okay, allow me to dispense the wisdom of my 38 years on this planet.
Over analyzing love is the first mistake. Trying to quantify it and qualify it will drive you batshit crazy.
Love is different things to different people. It an take months to develop or just minutes.
Does thinking of your boy make you smile? When you see or hear something funny, do you think of sharing it with him first? When you get frustrated or irritated, do you look forward to being with him for comfort and support?
Those are the basic symptoms of love. It doesn't mean he is the ONE love of your life (because that's a myth) or that you two will be together forever or any of that romanticized nonsense. It means that in the here and now you love him.
Also keep in mind, weddings bring out the sentimentalist in most people, so his declaration while sincere, was likely prompted by those feelings. Just saying, don't worry so much about picking out china patterns.
