I'm really not dead. Promise. I got a Christmas card from the lovely dine, as in past years, and was inspired to post an update. The past year has been... eventful.

BoyThe boyfriend and I broke up in March. Since then, I've gone on probably a dozen first dates, two second dates, and zero third dates. Truth-in-advertising is no longer in vogue, ( Read more... )

I'm so glad to see you update, and that's it's positive (overall) is even better! congrats on the new position - you deserve a supportive boss and good conditions.

glad the card reached you - I was hoping the address was still good, and semi-nekkid guys were still appropriate holiday fare (porn is so traditional, don'tcha know)

It's good to see things are going well for you (those old dating profiles notwithstanding)! And I'm with you on the Tartine Bread--I have their original dessert cookbook and it is equally amazing.

It is wonderful to see a post from you! I've thought of you during the year and wondered how you were doing.

I quit my tutoring job, took the summer off, and now work as a part-time office manager for an air conditioning company. I enjoy the job.

Of course tutoring tracked me down. I'm now tutoring the son of a friend who is being homeschooled. So once a week I go tangle with a teenage boy again. He idolizes Steve Jobs and wants to finish school early so he can leave for California and go to some school in Cupertino so he can prepare to work for Apple.

I'm still climbing!

And I had a play produced in LA last April. Good to hear you're still doing the theater thing, even if it is "musical" theater. (grin)

I now have a mental picture of a guy in a trench coat with "TUTORING" on the back, wielding a giant magnifying glass, hunting you down :D And hey, Apple can always use more good, dedicated employees!

Climbing! Oh man, I had the BEST climbing day today. 5.11c! Of course, it was totally crazy. And I only get one once in a great while. But it felt GREAT.
