I can see how someone would be driven to make something like that. Between the POV issues that exclude common views in favor of the editors' pet views (ie using exclusively left leaning sources in an article - I've personally seen that), the edit wars, the userbox crackdowns, and the "cite a source for every single line of your article or we'll consider it unsouced" crap that seems to have just started recently on wikipedia and about a million other problems with "mob" editing, I'm surprised that it took this long...
I think the open wiki's are probably doomed as a reliable source of information.
