I watched the back of a boy at crew doing an ERG test, about to pass out basically, and this is what his shirt said: "Pain is fear coming out of the body."

thats like something mmy basketball coach used to make us say

we'd be doing defenseive drills, and ready to pass out, or puke or whatever
and he'd yell "what is pain?"
and we'd have to yell "pain is weakness leaving the body"

i always liked the saying too... as long as i wasnt in the process of gasping for air =)

my swim team coach said that too us when we where like doing a 1000 or soemthing, it really boosts up ur confidence, and strength.
