Xan had surgery on the 25th to remove the little lump off his finger. They aren't entirely sure what it is, but it's probably harmless, so after taking him to the doctor (who then referred us to a dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon or something) she decided to take it off and biopsy it. We have a follow-up appointment in six weeks, which is kind ( Read more... )

Why would you have normally deleted the one of Z? (I love it)

The face painting photos (all of them!) are so fun, glad Xan agreed to sit for a posed photo :)

I can't believe how mature Tempest looks! My boyfriend's daughter is 10 (will be 11 in december) and she has these startling moments of being either VERY mature followed by incredibly regressive behavior. It's tough.

Glad Xan did so well with his procedure! General anesthesia makes me weepy too, but the more obnoxious reaction I have is wanting apple juice (which I never drink) until I spectacularly puke it back up. I'd rather just have the weepies!

Hi there,
I've been reading with confusion the landlady saga and it just strikes me too as so odd. Had she perhaps had a mental breakdown lately or been ill in any way? Is it worth perhaps straight out asking her what her problems are with you?

When it first happened, the eviction notice I mean, I called her and left a message asking her where this came from and what we'd done and how we were happy to talk issues out, etc... and her response was that she had "no problem" with our family, that she loved our kids, this wasn't personal, and was simply a "Business decision". Which makes even less sense, tbh.

Your kids are exceptionally cute :) I love that they each have something unique about them, too. I bet Z will keep her blue eyes :)

I also really enjoyed the story you posted about the Girl in the Window. It made me so happy to see Dani get matched to an amazing family, but it also angers me that nothing was done about the situation until she was 7. Stories like this make me want to get into law enforcement/social work to do my best to bring justice to these evil people mistreating children :( However, it restores my faith in humanity to know that with all the bad in the world...there are so many good, giving people as well. Very heartwarming. Thanks for sharing this.

Glad Xan made it through his procedure with no major upset - he's right, the anesthetic gases do taste absolutely vile.

The crazyness of the landlady never ceases to amaze me. She seriously needs to pull her head out of her ass - I think the fumes are getting to her.

And as always, your kids are so danged cute! I agree with you on the hating putting little girls in bikinis thing. I wish tankinis had been a thing when I was a kid - I was really tall, so in order to get one-pieces long enough, we always had to get them a size or more too big, and the straps were always falling off. Even now, I haven't the chutzpah to wear a bikini, and I still can't find one-pieces long enough, so the tankini is my go-to option. Really glad actually - I needed the top half of my maternity suit long before I needed the bottom half, and I was glad to be able to mix and match.

I'm glad Xan's surgery went well. It sounds like he took it in stride, though the fasting for 12 hours is kind of ridiculous. I mean, I know it's standard procedure, but usually they schedule those surgeries in the morning, not the afternoon. But at least everything went okay, both both Xan and you. (I had a really tough time waiting in the hospital when my father-in-law was having surgery, so I can understand some of the panic ( ... )
