Tempest has been having these wild mood swings lately that are as exhausting as they are frustrating. When she's in the midst she's red-faced, squalling and hollering at the top of her lungs like she's 3 years old again and just wants to hear herself scream. I'm left rather baffled on how to respond to her in a positive or productive way because

When K was about 11-ish, research came out (this goes in depth http://www.icn.ucl.ac.uk/sblakemore/SJ_papers/BlaCho_jcpp_06.pdf) about how adolescent brains develop... the TL:DR version is that the aliens really do come steal their brains long about the start of puberty and don't bring them back until their early 20's.

I explained that to Kailea... and her stubborn nature meant that whenever she started slipping into that mode, a reminder that the issue was most likely one of brain development rather than that I was the most horrible person on earth seemed to do the trick.

I threw a minecraft party for Aiden on the 29th September. I will never do it again. SO MUCH WORK. I don't think anyone realises the amount of research and planning (and ordering american blue jello from ebay!) that went into it!

Funny that both our boys love it. :)

They don't sell blue jello there?! So weird. I wonder if you could have done it yourself with food colouring... that's what we did for the green anyway.

ALL kids this age love Minecraft. It's like a disease.

Nope! I probably could have but I was sucked in by the pinterest boards. :)

Minecraft seems less popular here - only the boys who have older brothers seem to know about it. Its autism heaven for Aiden though. Literally all he wants to do is watch youtube tutorials and build things!
