i have liked your responses in many communities, mind if i add you? i have gone through half my pregnancy in grad school ha ha....morning sickness + class = the worst thing ever!! i just got my masters degree and totally understand/respect your need to go to school after you have the baby. i'll be going back to work after maternity leave as well. people on LJ try to act like they are constantly battling for the best momma award, its pretty lame :)
thanks!! congrats on finishing up your grad school stuff, isn't it great to go to class and think "oh no, i'd better sit by the door in case i have to run out" :). what did you get your degree in? yeah, i had no clue that so many people would tell me i should just basically go on medicare/wic and drop out of school for a year, especially when i only have less than a year left! maybe they think i'm in class from 7 am until 5 pm or something, but i'm only taking one class next semester (and with a teacher who has attendance optional!), and i'll leave the baby with ken. so apparently doing that has me up for the worst momma award. darn ;)
yeah, lj is like a bitchy "who is the best momma" contest. my mom worked from home and breastfed me for a while, til i was like 2...but she had her own non-profit at home...i mean, to each their own. i got my degree in social work, i work as a social worker for a hospital system. taking a few hrs a week for class is gonna be no big deal bf wise, thats what pumps are for. i am hard core wanting to breastfeed...but cosleeping terrifies me( gonna keep the baby in a bassinet deal in the room for the first few months, then its crib time) i'm indifferent to slings, i really like the travel systems ha ha...and i am going back to work/ having a hospital birth. so i totally win the lj bad momma award ha ha. i just don't post about it in any comms, because i don't feel like wrangling internets drama...check out anti_mom, it is the best comm. i've joined so far, the people are way laid back and individualistic
( ... )
holy cow, it has been entirely too long since i've had any idea what u were up to. it's kinda freakin' me out to find out so much about u all at once......... :o) but it's way cool. i'm so glad for u and your husband and your law school and your baby! congrats, snar! i'm gonna try my bestest to not lose touch with you for 8 years again....... :o)
lol it's like a bridget overload!! i started kalandaka right after i broke up with my ex-fiance in my jr year of college. damn that was a long time ago! :) yeah, i saw one of the emails you had of mine when you sent out your latest big post, and i haven't had that email since...like...high school. but i'll try not to lose touch with you again! :)
thanks! yeah, it was a bit of shock to me, especially since i went there for help and got criticized by so many (although there were a few who gave me excellent advice). it's great to hear that you're exclusively breastfeeding, gives me great hope :). one girl in my class gave birth to her son last september, and she's one of the top in our class, so i hope i'm as successful as you guys. and i'm sure i'm gonna have a ton of questions for you... :)
