Guhh. Why must I keep meeting new people that I know I'm going to have to say goodbye to eventually? It's so hard just to take advantage of the time that I know each of them when I know that some day soon they'll most likely be out of my life for good. It's so frustrating. As rare as it is for me to be able to answer these profound questions, I have some answers for you, Amanda. I won't word it myself though, I am going to turn to the pros (pros being people more eloquent than me)
This is what you're going through:
"It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend:"
~"For Good", Wicked

I dunno who said this, but it's also appropo:
"Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same."

Anyways, this is all good because:
"The ornament of a house is the friends who frequent it." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
And you are going to have an awesome house if you do this constantly-making-friends thing for your whole life (and how can you help it?). :)

So that's why. :D
