I need a refresher course...

Okay, my Munchkee is a little over two weeks old and she is doing awesome on a 3 hour schedule. Until today. I lost my babywise book a while ago I ordered a new one that hasn't arrived yet. So, I need a refresher on the 45 minute intruder. What are the main causes? I know a low milk supply is one, but I pumped 4 ounces today and gave it to her ( Read more... )

If it's not hunger, it has to with a change in their sleep cycles...something to do with waking up while they transition to active sleep. They look wide awake and like they're ready to get up, but if you pick them up they just get crankier. If you hear them at 45 minutes, it's best just to let them cry for a bit and see if they go back to sleep ( ... )

Thank you muchly for your response! Today is going so much better. I talked to another babywiser friend and we also came to the conclusion that she may have gotten over stimulated at church (her first outing since we implemented the schedule) and then her naps were wrecked for the day. Either way, today is going great.

Yeah, church mornings are always really hard for us! I've noticed that the morning nap is vital for Amy...she can miss or put off her later naps in the afternoon, but if she misses the morning nap the day is shot. Thankfully now that she's older it's getting easier to deal with.

And a word of encouragement...it can get so stressful to have a little one with so many needs to meet, but it gets easier - I have been rejoicing lately because she's sleeping from about 8:30 to 7:30 at night and I only feed her four times a day...six months ago I was up in the wee hours of every morning and nursing her at least seven times a day, it seemed like there was no end in sight, ever! Especially if you keep up with the Babywise, you'll learn your baby's routine and have more time for yourself.

How disgusting. TRAINING your child as if it's a dog? How bout responding to his needs rather than trying to make him conform to you.

So either you don't have kids (in which case your opinion means nothing to me) or you have kids but you let them run your life and don't teach them anything. TEACHING a child to talk or use a spoon or cover their mouth when they cough is TRAINING.

I didn't think there were women stupid enough not to know those two words were synonymous.

I have two amazing children whom I wouldn't dream of ABUSING. Babywise is abuse. I'm an intelligent enough CHRISTIAN mom to do my homework before I decide to abuse my child. Ezzo was thrown off the Marantha publishing roster for a reason.

A CHRISTIAN? Really? That's a great testimony you've got there. You might want to look into that cussing problem.
