I visit a fitness/weight loss message board from time to time, and people are always saying how much weight they've lost using their kid's wii or DDR :P

yeah there is kind of a condition to that Wii study thought. The participants were instructed to do quite exaggerated movements like moving your leg and turning your body similar to the boxercise that it was compared to. So that skewed the results to some extent. You would have to read the actual study. ^.^ But as Justin said for some people its a good gate way into fitness or if you add things like that to your aditional exercise fitness benefits are accumulative. Working out 4 times at 10 minutes in one day is proven to be as efficent at raising VO2 max, and BMR as a 40 minute straight workout if they are at the same intensity.

True true. Their greatest benefit though, in my mind, is being a way to trick kids into getting exercise. Also great for when the weather's too yucky for a person's usual routine (jogging, etc)
