See, the fact that people are getting spooked and sitting on their money isn't helping the economy right now. Recession is just as much as a physical ailment as it is mental, and the less people spend, well...you gotta make money to make money. You make money by selling shit and having people buy it. And so on and so forth.

I'll probably wind up doing half my shopping online as usual.

I only go out on Black Friday in the afternoon, when most of the good stuff is gone. I don't need that psycho-consumer bullshit, yo.

You know, come to think of it, there's always one hot gift item (like last year it was the Wii), but this year I haven't heard about anything.

No kidding. All the game systems have quieted down and chilled out. The only thing people are going all crazy for around here is the godawful Twatlight...and that's only in theatres.

What's on your wishlist, out of curiosity?

I suppose people are more worried about their finances than blowing that extra hundred dollars on the perfect gift for Suzi-Q.

My mom asked me for a list, and I had to struggle to think of anything! I remember writing down the first season of Dexter, since that's something I'll probably like, and some random CDs... Of course, I remembered later that the Hitman trilogy for PS2 is only $30 bucks and that I still need a new mp3 player. lol I'll probably buy the latter on my own once I figure out if I want to try something other than an iPod. What about you?

Did you get my fic email, btw? (I don't mean to be pushy about it; I'm just eager to know if you think it sucks... whiiich I guess is still being pushy. Dammit.)

As a matter of fact, I DID receive it, and read it, and enjoy it. Do you want me to email you some advice and whatnot? This weekend? Because I'd be more than happy to get off my ass and do so. You're not being pushy. I'm just being a bad talking beta. >:(

As to me? Yeah. I was kinda surprised that I really didn't want that much. An external hard drive (lulz -- how nerdy is THAT), a gift certificate to Amazon so I can run amok, some movies and some comics.

Have you read the Dexter trilogy, or are you mostly a fan of the show?
