Fantasy casting the Kingkiller Chronicle, part 1: Frame

So in my previous post, I went on about how zelda_zee got me hooked on Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicle, and how you should all go out and read it, like, this instant. I also mentioned that there's a TV adaptation in the works and mused about fantasy casting it. So... yeah, I'm going to do that. Spoilers for everything published to date and

I don't know any of those actors, but I agree they look the part, especially your Bast!

And when are you going to write that Kvothe/Bast fic that you teased me about so long ago?

I did have to trawl IMDB for Jason O'Mara, and then do some thinking along the lines of, "Oh, yeah! He was on that show, where he played that guy! Yeah, that should work."

I'll see what I can do to remedy the sad lack of Kvothe fic. Between Bast and Simmon and Tempi... for a character who likes women so much, he really is ridiculously slashable.

The clincher is that Chronicler's name is Devas Lochees, i.e., he's probably a part of the Lackless family. At this point I'd be incredibly surprised if the Netalia Lackless who ran off with a trouper wasn't the same person as Kvothe's mother "Laurian." This would make Kvothe and Chronicler at least distantly related.

Glad to find a fellow fan of Jesse Williams as Bast! Oh, the eye candy...

I think someone pointed out the possible Lochees/Kvothe connection to me; I definitely wouldn't have noticed on my own. My guess is that they're not super-closely related, but that there's some kind of distant tie.

Your icon is fantastic! May I ask where it's from? The fandom is way too small for my liking, and I need some graphics, gosh darn it!
