I was trying unseccessfully to just relax on the bed and watch Van Helsing when Morrigan started crying. At first it didn't seem like a big deal. I checked her diaper. Nothing. I picked up the bottle, she didn't want it or the pacifier. I carried her around the room trying everything I could think of but she just cried louder and louder until I ( Read more... )

I glanced up at the sound of the scream from a few blocks down. Something was going down and it was going down fast. My breath caught in my throat. I wanted to do something - get Xander or Willow. Tessa was right, we needed to take Morrigan and go.

Hopping in the car, I hooked in and took Morrigan from Tessa so she could drive. "So much for this being any safer." I murmured mostly to myself. "Do you have any idea where we're going?"

I pulled out glancing at the wolf in the rearview mirror. I wasn't going to speed unless he took notice of us. I tried to calm down thinking that my pounding heart could draw his attention.

"Right now, in the oppisite direction of that thing. After that, I don't know. Mexico sound good to you?"

I let out a harsh breath. Right, we needed to keep Morrigan safe, but I couldn't help but think of the others. My sister, Willow, Xander, Kennedy and Faith.

"Yeah, it would be a good idea to get as far away from that thing," I agreed. Are the others going to be all right? That was the thought I had in my head. I couldn't bear to lose any one.

I knew what Dawn was thinking. If that thing was out did that mean that Buffy, Faith, and Kennedy were dead and Willow and Xander were next? I felt my eyes tear up though I managed to stop the sob in my throat. I had to stop thinking about Ken dying. That would definately be no good. I checked the gas level and thanked anyone listening that it was full.

"I guess...we'll just go until we have to stop for gas." I answered as I pulled onto the freeway. I figured we were best out of the city and its traffic.

I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand.

"Oh god Dawn, what are we going to do?"
