Learning the way.

I watched the two guys at the table. The two that I was serving, and yes I was a waitress here at this little diner. This wasn’t my first choice of jobs but I needed the money and hey putting that you were a Slayer on your resume doesn’t exactly land you the job you want. With no experience other then the bit of waitressing I did when I ran away ( Read more... )

Sam was a little too excited about getting the Impala for the afternoon. And I knew the minute he got into that car his chick rock would be blasting. I watched the Impala speed away before I heard the waitress' voice behind me. Turning around I was met by a beautiful blonde holding my check. I nodded and gestured for her to take a seat.

Folding my hands I looked at her straight in the eye. She was cute. She had this small town naive look to her but it was overshadowed and looked like she knew more then she let on.

"Yeah, Sammy's my brother." I looked up at her. "Mind if I ask you a few questions?"

Mind if I fuck you?

I didn't really pay attention to the two guys before. Just you know served them like I do everyone else, unless of course it was one of our regulars which would always end up with large conventions. But now I was noticing just how cute this guy was. Even asking me to take a sit. I glance around then look back at him. I don't see why not, I mean we aren't that busy and the whole point about this little diner is being friendly. We were suppose to socialize with the customers especially new ones because they wanted us to get as many regulars as we could. So ok I would sit down for a few minutes. If I did it for too long then might get yelled at by my manger but they usually just say as long as we don't get busy and you still keep an eye on your table ( ... )

She sat across from me and smiled, checking me out. Okay, she might not have been checking me out but I can bet a lot of moolah on the fact that well, she was checking me out. I unfolded my hands and smiled. She was going to make this easy enough.

"Do you remember the one family that sat up at the counter there oh, about...a half hour or so ago? The father with his two children?"

My hand found my pocket and I pulled out my wallet, looking down for a moment before pulling out my "Detective Winchester" card and sliding it across the table to her so she could see I was all official. Besides, it would only increase her attraction to me. I raised my eyebrows as if to ask her, "Well, do you want to fuck me?" Personally, I was eye-fucking the shit out of her.

Ok so I may not have had much experience in the dating field. I mean I did but you know dating dead guys for the most part and they were well guys I knew for other reasons, but I never really just met a guy like this, so this was somewhat different. It felt nice being able to just talk to a guy as a normal person, not because he was a vampire or I was saying him. But this guy who I didn't even know his name yet was so checking me out. His eyes were scanning up and down my body ( ... )

So his name was Dean, at least we got to that part now. So I did slightly know him now, I mean his name was Dean Winchester and he was a detective. No reason to feel bad about leaving with a guy I didn’t know, or well did know now. See it all works out. And I am the slayer after all, as much as I’m trying to get away from that though, so if he really is some psycho it’s not like I couldn’t handle myself. He is only human; I fought demons and all kinds of evil before ( ... )

I headed back out into the dining area ready to be torn into but I was greeted by a happy waitress and not a suspicious one. "Uh, one second. I think I dropped..." I knelt down and looked under the table and around the seat before scanning the top of the table quickly. "Never mind." I straightened up and looked back at the bathroom. I'd need to check my wallet later, maybe I had just missed it. It could have been stuck together or something equally possible but not at all probable. Or maybe she had it and she was keeping cool. I decided to try and play it cool as well, giving her a smile. "Uh, yeah, actually. Let's go ( ... )

He thought he dropped something and was checking the table. I can bet it was that little reporter can he was looking for. I could just ask him about now, show him that I found it but I’d rather play this out and see what happens. I’ll just happen to question him here and there and see what he says, see how good he is with coming up with stuff. I know I was good at it. Plus I want to give him the benefit of a doubt because well I liked this guy and I wanted to continue liking this guy ( ... )

As we started walking she asked me about where Sam was. I had to be careful with this one because I couldn't say too much so I made sure I didn't lie. "I don't know where he is exactly. I do know he was probably distracted by a lovely lady like yourself because that's my brother, eye on the prize until a pretty girl walks by. They remind him of Jess too much." I sighed. "That was his ex. She...was killed." I quieted down because of the not so great memories before continuing on down the road. "Summers, nice. So, if I may ask, what's your favorite season, Summers ( ... )

Oh great, so now he's going to be one of these people who have fought demons their whole life. So ok I didn't start fighting them till I was a little older but still I'd been doing it about eight years now which was more then enough. Besides just being a demon haunter was nothing compared to being the slayer...a slayer ( ... )

Believe it or not I was starting to worry about Sammy. He had been gone a while and hadn't answered my phone call before. Buffy was going on about normal while I worried about my brother. She was even flirting but unfortunately Sammy's life was pretty much on my mind. I took out my cell and checked if I had missed any calls but I didn't. The screen didn't show any missed calls. I sighed and put my phone back, finally tuning into Buffy. "Attracted to me?"

She was attracted? Or did she say attacked? Attractive? I was never a very good listener. Not when Sam was on my mind. "Can you hold on?" I was getting a call. I pulled out my phone, flipped it open and put it to my ear. "Talk." It wasn't Sam. And it also wasn't somebody I'd let Buffy know. I didn't even say her name. "Hey...no, no, I'm good. Yeah, uh, can I call you later? Yeah, thanks."

I hung up with the unnamed woman and turned back to Buffy. "So, what is your story anyway? Girl learns there are demons and then...wait a minute."

I was flashing back. It happened from time to ( ... )

He actually seemed surprised when I said I was attracted to him. Which ok I didn't exactly say I was attracted to him just that I was attracted to people like him or maybe I did say I was attracted to him something like no wonder why I'm attracted to you, and great here I go letting my thoughts run. Just what I need in a time like this ( ... )

I didn't get it. All the signs had pointed to a slayer. Small town. Demons. Hot broad. Broad? I say broad now? Sammy won't hear about broad, that's for sure. "Really, I thought I had that one pegged." I looked up at her, penetrating gaze intact. "Guess not."

Whether she was little Ms. Likes-to-fight or not she was hiding something. Whether it was how truly attracted she had been towards me or if she were hiding something different, more of a slaying variety but she wouldn't budge.

The girl had a poker face that would break a man's spirit...and legs that wouldn't quit.

"So, Ms. I'm not the Slayer but knew one back when, what is your story? And not the blurb in the newspaper story but the lifetime cry your eyes out, boyfriend went bad type story. Those are much more interesting. Believe me."

I paused.

"Not that I know anything whatsoever about Lifetime television shows, movies, or channel premise." Deeper, Dean, deeper. You're getting in deeper.

Damn Sam and his Lifetime. Damn Sammy to hell.
