Sven sounds like a candidate for "most likely to go postal". When I was in residence people used to penny people into their rooms, and I recently had a similar thing happen to me when I forced the glovebox closed in my car. In that case I had to push the door *more closed* before the latch would allow it to open again. Did you try something like that?

Yep, we tried moving around the door (within the frame) and pushing in/out as much as we could. We spent over an hour trying before the repairman actually came. He seemed pretty impressed by what had happened - he said most of his jammed doors/locks don't take this long to open.

Agreed, I was one of those people who loved erasing letters and changing things like SPUC to SUC etc.
