I promise to update regularly, and I don't. And, hence, another trimesterly update on my life. This one covers late March to early July.

Parents: My parents visited me for five nights in late May. It was terrific having them over here. I had only been living in Seattle for two months the last time they visited, so this time I was able to take ( Read more... )

I feel like I'm the only one I know who isn't already or in the process of becoming a Mac fanatic.

Of course you should update more often!

Dan, I'm also not a Mac fanatic. I do like my iPod, but that's more *despite* it being an Apple product than anything.

I wish! This is iPodimus Prime 2 - I dropped the original guy and it broke. I bought another one b/c I already had the Road Trip and several spare iPod cords...if this one dies, I dunno what I'll do. :(

(Note that the fact that the first one died about...oh, a year and ONE MONTH after I bought it did not make me bitter about Apple at ALL.)

I have heard so much about breakfast at Cora's and I haven't made it there yet! I really need to do that.

Do you have Nexus? Flying to Canada is nicer when you don't have to wait in the custom's line and it's only $50 for 5 years. Although you have to give the US & Canadian agencies your fingerprints and optical scans.

I almost applied for Nexus, but I decided against it after hearing the new DHS head (http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/04/20/f-transcript-napolitano-macdonald-interview.html). I don't trust the US government with my fingerprints.

It's tempting, though. When I flew through Pearson last week, I had to wait half an hour to get through customs; meanwhile, there were several Nexus lines that were empty.

It's $50 for *five* years? That's a way better deal than I thought it was...

How much extra is the Maple Leaf club? It sounds interesting, especially if I start to fly around more often.

It's about $400 + tax. It's a bit steep, but it also makes the airport experience that much more tolerable.
