A shovel? There should be quite a few of those for sale in most towns... Goldenrod has a huge gardening shop though, if you want a specific type or size.
--oh, that's right! It might be a little pricey for someone just starting out, but there's a chain of hardware stores called The Machoke Depot! They have a smaller one in Cherrygrove, so that might work for you! If not, there's definitely one in Violet.
