7th Fall [accidental video]

[Near the fountain walks a slender redhead with a Rottweiler on a leash. She was more or less lost in her thoughts, hands thrust into her pockets and not really watching where she was walking. She hasn't payed much attention to the Network since the weekend, with the exception of a post or two from people she knew. She certainly hasn't noticed ( Read more... )

"The City works in way we can not comprehend." He said, chuckling slightly at how eerie that sounded. "In any case, it would be unwise for you and your pet to stay outside in the evening when you are so troubled. There are several vampires in the City who are not so... well behaved as I.

"May I escort you back to your apartment building?"

"With a City such as this, I suppose I would be inclined to agree."

The hand he placed in front of him closed into a tight fist as he bowed his head. "I'm afraid I will not be able to escort you tonight after all, Anna... It might be more troublesome for you if I did."

It somehow made him laugh too. It felt like if there was a God? Well, He wouldn't really take a vampire's side, would He? So perhaps blindness was his punishment.

"Do you - are you going to be okay getting home? I could help..."

As if the curses weren't enough of a clue that this place really messed with your perceptions, here she was, an Angel (even a fallen one), offering to help a vampire home.

"I'm afraid I have certain appointments to keep this evening." He said, smiling. "You need not worry about me, I assure you."

He tested this by tapping his foot on the ground. "I would just... probably need some time to adjust.

"Will you be alright? I hope you did not see anything... too frightening."

She looked away for a bit, "I saw... about what I would expect from a creature like as yourself."

She tried to keep the tone as polite as she could. She'd been shocked, but more from the sheer unexpectedness of it. Since she'd been in the City, she'd seen many strange things, but not the faces of demons and monsters - it had been awhile, really, just since the last time she'd seen Ruby.

"It seems unfair that I have seen a beautiful vision, while you have witnessed a horrible one."

He sat back, closing his eyes as if to hear better. "I would completely understand if you no longer wish to be associated with me, Anna, but I would like to make it up to you somehow."

"Make it- make it up to me?" Anna was taken aback, she'd expected a great many things, but that?

"You don't have anything to make up to me, I- I blinded you, I should be the one making that offer."

"Ah, but I am a vampire.

"Rather... as a vampire, I have healing abilities. Admittedly, it appears as if I shall be blind for a good many days, but I am certain my body can recover."

It truly was convenient to have such abilities at times like this. "What happened was an accident. You need not worry about it."

"You- you think you will?" Anna was hopeful, "This is something that can be healed from? Do you think the others will?"

"Without a doubt."

Others? How many souls has she seen today? And how many people were now blind?

"I think... that the City is quite advanced in medicine, since we are all from many different worlds."

A short pause, his voice smooth and reassuring, "I know that I will heal eventually, Anna, but it is unfortunate that I can not heal others. You may want to visit the City Hospital tomorrow to ask for some help with regards to the others. But for now, it may be best for you to go home... and let the curse pass, hm?

"Besides... I do not think you companion likes me at all."

It made him chuckle a bit. The poor pup... It made him wonder if he smelled of blood, despite not feeding for a long time.

"Peter was going to talk to the healers, if he gets good news, I'm sure he'll tall me." At least, she hoped he did. He'd seemed very nice and... well, she needed more of that here.

Anna made a soft, soothing noise to try and calm Bobby. "He'll be okay. Just been a long day for both of us. Probably way past time we should be home."

He nodded towards her voice, "Do take care, Anna. And I'm sure Peter will contact you to ease your worries.

"And I shall be sure to do the same when my condition improves. That is... if you'd like."

"Oh, please do." The words were out almost before Anna realized it, but having said them, she realized she actually meant them. Vampire or not, human or not, she'd done this to him unintentionally. She wanted to make sure that it wasn't permanent.

He laid back, a sad smile across his lips, "Have a pleasant evening, Anna."
