"It is difficult to hold the world's interest for more than a half hour at a time. I myself have done so successfully every day for twenty years." - Salvador Dali.

Salvador Dali is one of my all time favorite artists and considered a master of the surrealist style. His most famous piece "The Persistence of Memory" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Read more... )

Yes! I love "Destino." Great stuff. The intimacy of the song -- almost impossible for me to imagine being played, sweeping strings and all, anywhere but a candle-lit room -- set up with/against the epic imagery of Dali's organic monoliths and infinite plains. Saw it for the first time only about three or four months ago. I remember getting really worked up about it back in 2003, when Disney began schlepping it around to film festivals. Surely Disney wouldn't go out of their way to complete a 50-year-old project involving one of the most well-known and beloved artists of the 20th century and then just hide it under a rock forever, right?

Various uncompleted pieces of it have been floating around Youtube for a few years now. I was just surprised to have found a copy of such high quality as I did. It was worth a half century's wait to see Dali's imagery given life at long last via film. I honestly don't know what the Disney company is planning on doing with it.

That would be rad, thank you. This blog's been up for two days and I've already had to replace the video once because Disney had Youtube shut it down.
