Supernatural 8x20 "Pac Man Fever"

Okay, I have been really, really bad about about posting and redbrunja is probably going to laugh at me that I'm posting about Supernatural of all things. But this show is hitting all of the right buttons and I am so excited about it. But to balance out the gay, I will post about Elementary next.

First things first, I adore Charlie and I love that she's a queer character and nothing about her back story had anything to do with her sexual identity. She is an intelligent and fierce lady, and she happens to be queer. I think that is fantastic and I really like this trend.

Sam's haircut is adorable and I love that the boys have gotten so comfortable at the batcave. I love Dean's character development--that he can love another character (who is not Sam) so fiercely, that he can both be protective and supportive of Sam and trusting of Charlie. I'm really new to this fandom but I've watched enough of the previous seasons to know that Dean has made incredible progress. And the hugs! So many and they are in character. I hope we are not asking for too much for another Dean/Cas hug this season, you know where Cas feels comfortable enough to hug back. I think Castiel deciding that he can stick around for more than five minutes might help. And I am seriously trying not to get my hopes up, but Castiel falling would really be the best thing that could possibly happen.

And can I just say how heartbreaking this scene was:

Jensen's acting here is incredible. I was just waiting for the face, you know the "seriously?" kind of reaction but this is something else. I know I'm reading this scene with Dean/Cas goggles but this is seems so obvious. The double-take, the hesitation and the devastated look he gives Charlie. It's a damn perfect mirror of the scene just a few episodes earlier with Cas.

I am so excited to see more Naomi. Amanda Tapping is incredible and I really want to see what she does with this character. She is perfectly devious and I love how confident and absolutely fierce she is. I honestly think that she is an angel---there is so much about her that reminds me of Castiel at the beginning of season 7. Although, I think she's much more in control that he was. So anyway, she intrigues me and the more Amanda Tapping, the better.
