at upj, a lot of my friends were environmental science majors. i believe a lot of it was geology too. most colleges have that major, i'm almost certain.

if you'd want to go towards a more gov't route, after you are all done with school you can take your civil service test and then work for the state. both my dad (although he just retired last week) and matt shawley's dad work for Dept. of Environmental Protection. they have different programs within the whole DEP, like air quality, coal mining...my dad was the manager for the environmental clean-up program in pittsburgh and he'd do stuff like approve or deny grants to build, check out environmental hazards like oil spills or tire fires and then send out people to clean it up.

there are environmental internships as well, i'd check out www.the-sca.org, although there isn't a whole lot of money in it, but a nice scholarship, or i'd check out the DCNR's website.

if you want more information, i'm pretty sure i can get it for you, depending on what you want to know!

It's definitely Environmental Science. I have taken a few sustainability classes and it's really interesting. We waste/pollute/damage so much more/worse than anyone realizes!

right on!

i'm getting my masters in farming. not really that but i want to learn how to make farms better. all kinds. so i'm sort of on the same kinda thing you are. kinda.

if you ever get the chance, read jane goodall's "a harvest of hope: a guide to mindful eating." while i'm sure you know most of the stuff, it's a nice read anyway. it's also a good book to convince others to be mindful of their diets without being assholey.
