Muscle is the most easily gained/lost tissue, even moreso than fat.
If you only do aerobic exercise, you'll lose fat, but you'll also lose some muscle tissue in the process. The way to prevent that from happening is to throw some strength training in there. A pair of barbells would be a good start.
Also, since muscle weighs more than fat, there's a good chance you will gain muscle faster than you lose fat, and see some initial weight gain. Don't worry too much if you see that happening.
