I daresay he misunderstood me. I fear crocodiles -- and, due to a coincidental connection, clocks -- not children.

But I do indeed dislike children. In fact, I believe it would be more accurate to say that I detest them. As to the reason why... it involves a rather long and convoluted history, which I will not tax your ears by relating just now. Suffice it to say, the children... child who inspires my loathing is nowhere near so innocuous as you might suppose.
