I'm on your side. Not only is your char reacting to IC knowledge, you are trying to share the roleplaying of the situation with other characters. If that's not how these guys play, if I were you, I'd find another game where the participants are expected to react IC to IC knowledge and share IC info.

I know some lovely role-players who I'd happily go to a party with, but I'd actively avoid attending any game with them. My blood pressure couldn't take it.
Yeah, that was my first suggestion -- that we just avoid all RP scenes together. The guild master wanted to avoid that if possible though. (But between us, I still try to avoid the guy.)

I admit, I'd be more inclined to fall in with that kind of logic, but only because of a lifetime of reading comics. I fully get why it might not fly elsewhere though.
