Oh, Milo, never get into a card game with a namless, faceless entity when your destiny is on the line! That's the first thing they teach you in Introduction to Dealing With Nether Creatures 101. Poor lad.

Poor Milo. His fecklessness didn't just cost him, it cost other people too.

There's no such thing as a "sure bet," and virtually no one who wants to give you something for nothing. Especially a nameless, faceless enitity.

I laughed at the end, it's such a fairy trickster type of thing to do, that prediction. Very well written, I enjoyed it.
