Title: Be Thou My Vision
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Pairing: Cloud Strife x Tifa Lockheart
Theme set: Gamma
Rating: PG13

Warnings: Eh. Just slightly vague sexual situations. Nothing that'll make it a pure 'R'

#45 - Eclipse
An eclipse was a rare occurrence and when it did Cloud was sure to wake Tifa, making her watch with sleepy eyes as they were the only two in their group of ten to see such a spectacle.

#40 - Whisper
It had been the night of Aerith’s death and the group was huddled at the inn of the Icicle area, and Cloud remembers feeling Tifa’s arms wrap around him and how hot her breath was against his bare back as she told him that everything would be okay through choked and half-sobbed whispers.

#16 - Cover
Staring down at the cover materia he wondered if it would be useful or not but as he glanced over at Tifa and watching as she tended to her wounds from the day’s fight, he equipped it to the slot of his bangle.

#02 - Hero
It was a childish belief that it was a boy who would be the hero to a girl, but it was Tifa who was doing the saving and Cloud silently thanked her for being his hero.

#06 - Hurricane
She remembers the one time they had gone to Costa del Sol for vacation and there had been a hurricane warning; the entire night she spent curled up in Cloud’s arms and listening to his low and soothing voice telling her it would be okay.

#13 - View
Cloud can recall one day, back two years ago, when the group had been climbing up a ladder and he had been following after Tifa and he decided to look up for a quick glance, only to catch the view of what lay beneath her skirt.

#22 - Journey
As the final remnants of meteor and the lifestream faded Tifa watched as Cloud groped the air beside them before firmly gasping at her hand while smiling up at the sky, “Our journey is just beginning.”

#43 - Search
“…are you going to go look for her?” Turning to the voice and finding Tifa in the doorway of his room Cloud just blinked and shook his head slowly, “No, I’m not. I have something more important to me right here…”

#24 - Strength
Gripping his arm tightly Cloud stared down at Tifa with a sad look flashing in his eyes, if he stayed then he would only worry her so kissing the top of her head he left the only place he ever called home and he had never felt weaker.

#05 - Run
He was always running away when there was a problem and Cloud knew that fact first hand, but running was always an answer for him; he didn’t know how to do anything else.

#19 - Candle
Blowing out the candles on the cake Cloud listened to the happy resonating ‘Happy Birthday!’ fill the bar.

#01 - Ring
She gets asked countless times by people about the ring on her right hand, and she just smiles in response.

#04 - Box
“…why do you keep all the empty boxes, Cloud?” Tifa asks, casting a curious glance over to the blonde man who just grins and gives a shrug.

#46 - Gravity
There was a sort of attraction that was bringing them together, pulling them closer and closer and making them notice and act like a pair of courting teenagers.

#03 - Memory
”Which is it? A memory, or us?” Thinking back on that question Tifa wonders if she had been too hard on Cloud, but after everything is over and Cloud is back at the bar just hearing him tell her he would rather choose the ‘us’ over a ‘memory’ is proof enough she hadn’t been.

#32 - Farewells
There had been so many farewells throughout the course of history and through their lives that when Tifa felt Cloud pull her tight into his arms and whispered ‘I’ll never leave again.’ she knew there would be no more ‘goodbyes’ shared between them.

#17 - Promise
From the doorway of Seventh Heaven Cloud felt three pairs of heavy eyes on his tired body and when he looked towards them he was surprised to have a woman throwing her arms around his neck and whispering pleading words into his chest, it was only when he murmured a soft ‘I promise’ into her hair did she look up with teary eyes and smile.

#26 - Ice
Sometimes she’s scared that if she broke the ice they would both drown.

#25 - Mask
He wore a mask sometimes, of a firm and cold face, but whenever she caught that serene and true smile and the sparkle in his eyes Tifa knew the mask was fading.

#39 - Overwhelmed
The night she finally came forward and told him how she felt Cloud felt like he had been hit with the hammer of reality just smiled, relieved that he had nothing to fear anymore.

#07 - Wings
The most embarrassing moment he remembers was when Marlene had, somehow, bribed him into playing ‘dress up’ and presented him to Tifa and Denzel as the ‘King of the Faeries.’

#08 - Cold
“I don’t remember Edge ever being this cold,” she murmurs, cuddling up closer against Cloud’s body and using him as a source of heat; he shrugs a little and peers out the window and at the collecting white around the glass, “it’ll be a cold winter.”

#09 - Red
He was always fond of that red dress she had stored in the closet.

#10 - Drink
Sometimes she would find him downstairs late at night at the bar, poking at a half-empty glass of beer and staring at it thoughtfully.

#33 - World
“Think we’ll save the world again?” She asked one night, watching the blond nurse his drink and stare down into the amber liquid for a moment before he raises his head and stares at her with smiling blue eyes and the answer was there: Only as long as you’re there with me.

#14 - Music
A couple months after the whole Kadaj thing settled down, Cloud presented Tifa with a piano for her birthday and told her he loved listening to her play it.

#12 - Temptation
Tifa never knew temptation could be so satisfying and good until the night Cloud pinned her down against the bed.

#15 - Silk
Her skin was smooth as silk beneath his calloused and wandering fingers.

#23 - Fire
His touch felt like fire on her bare skin as it slipped and explored each curve and contour.

#18 - Dream
She remembers the morning after their first night together and staring sleepily at the man holding her, wondering if it was all a dream and, if it was, she hoped to never wake up from it.

#21 - Silence
The two had no problem with the silence that usually found itself settled between them because it was easier for them to communicate with their eyes and body language.

#11 - Midnight
It’s around midnight when he gets back from his day of deliveries, everyone is asleep so he carefully walks as quiet as he can through the upstairs, checking up on his family: children first and Tifa last.

#36 - Laugh
If it was anything that could make a smile crack across his lips it was the sound of Tifa’s soft laughter from one of Yuffie’s stupid jokes.

#37 - Lies
Two years prior he remembered living in the lie of who he was, donning the same name he had always been called but parading around with memories that weren’t his; in the present he smiles at the sleeping woman at his side and presses a kiss to her temple, thanking her for bringing him out of the lie he had been living.

#27 - Fall
“How’d you get this?” He asked one night, fingers trailing over the scar on her back and she shook her head to his chest, not wanting to tell him it was from falling off the bridge all those years ago.

#35 - Fever
“I warned you that working without sleep would get you sick one day.” The voice was playful and teasing and Cloud just rolled away from Tifa, his face flushed from embarrassment and sickness.

#30 - Body
As cliché as it may have been, Cloud loved the way and feel of her body against his.

#49 - Lock
After a near break-in of the bar one night Cloud had taken it upon himself as man of the house to try his best and install a lock on the front and back doors.

#20 - Talent
“Oh, I don’t have a talent,” she said with a thoughtful frown on her lips, tilting her head towards the blue eyed man who grinned and gave a shake of his head, only telling her, “Yeah, you do, and that talent is making me - and your family, too - happy.”

#31 - Sacred
Aerith’s church was sacred and it was the place that Tifa told Cloud she wanted to hold the wedding, because it would be the best of inviting their departed friend and including her too.

#34 - Formal
Cloud hated wearing a suit, it felt like a prison on his body and the tie felt like it was choking him, but it’s the fact he casts a nervous glance to the woman and sees a smile on her face and her burgundy eyes dancing with happiness and the soft “I do” in on her voice does he finally feel relief and the hate for such clothing disappear.

#29 - Dance
Cloud didn’t know how to dance and when Tifa shyly told him she didn’t know how to either the two of them just smiled at one another.

#28 - Forgotten
It scared some of the customers when their drinks and orders were slammed down in front of them by the bar hostess, her anger seemingly fueled by the fact that someone had forgotten a one year anniversary.

#42 - Talk
He tried to talk to her but she kept avoiding him and Cloud had to stand there and wonder what he had done wrong.

#41 - Wait
Sometimes it paid to wait and Cloud found that out the next day, receiving an apology from Tifa for her behavior and how she had been upset because he forgot their anniversary.

#44 - Hope
After hearing the accusation of ‘forgetting’ he stared down at his wife with a look of pure shock that he almost believed her that he had forgotten.

#48 - Unknown
The only thing he did was tell her that he hadn’t forgotten and then grabbed her by the hand, leading her out the door and to Fenrir.

#47 - Highway
The feel of the wind in her hair as her arms clung around his waist and they sped along the highway felt like pure freedom to Tifa, and she loved feeling free.

#50 - Breathe
There was a moment when she almost forgot how to breathe when he unveiled the little cottage house way out in the country side, telling her that this would serve as a ‘home away from home’ sort of thing and that was the reason he had ‘forgotten’ all about yesterday.

#38 - Forever
Four years later and with two kids snuggled between his wife and him Cloud just grinned lazily and chuckled, knowing that these moments would last forever.
