You're welcome! I'm really pleased that you like it, since I know you've been through something similar. This part and the next (which is about half written) just didn't want to come out. I knew exactly what I wanted to have happen and every time I sat down to write, it seemed as though I was only able to get a little bit out. And I was telling Verity that I had originally thought I would wrap things up in this part. Imagine my surprise when I realized that it really needed to be at least one more part.

I cannot tell you how much love I have for this story, however much I keep trying! Your characters could walk off the page and into the show, as far as I am concerned, they are absolutely pitch perfect.

This chapter is distressing on one level, but it is still deeply satisfying to see Sherlock accepting John's care and finally trusting it enough to lean on. I am SO glad they had that conversation in the last chapter - I dread to think how much harder this scene would have been without it.

Just beautiful. Really, really beautiful.
