Leo cocks his head to the side, and smirks when the baby basilisk does the same. Things got a temper, but seems to tolerate his presence, which is good since he can't seem to sleep.

It's completely stupid, but Ashley can't sleep. She even tried sneaking into Henry's room, but it's not the same with him gone. She's surprised to see someone else up this late and wandering the halls. She stands next to Leo and nods a greeting.

"They're kinda cute when they do that, aren't they? Mean suckers when they grow up though," Ashley says, rubbing the still tender line of healing skin where the older basilisk tagged her. "Can't sleep or is this normal for bartenders?"

He shrugs, smiling as the hatchling slithers back and forth with him. "Bit of both actually, and I'm still getting used to the time zone around here."

"Yeah? Where'd you move in from? Henry never mentioned that."

"I've been living in LA for the past five years, but the last few months I got used to the time zone back in Greece."

Will needs to get out of the lab. Badly. Even if he hadn't been eyeball-to-eyeball with that damned bug, he would have been feeling a little on the unhinged side, couple of days he's been having.

Ashley told him to get out and he did, which had lasted for about five minutes before he was too anxious and paranoid to be that exposed to a bunch of complete strangers. So now he's wandering the Sanctuary when he needs breaks from contemplating man's inhumanity to man. At least he feels moderately safe here.

He sees Leo across the main lab and moves to join him.

"And, again, sorry for being a jerk the first time we met."

Leo shrugs, gleefully making faces at the happy little basilisk hatchling.
"Don't worry about it too much man."

Will smiles at Leo's antics. At least someone here can be unreservedly happy. "I just tend to get a little touchy where Magnus is concerned," he explains.

He smiles when the little hatchling starts nudging its head against the glass. "Ah, hey would it be safe for me to hold the little guy?"
