Final Destination City. It didn't even feel very different.
After landing the gyrocopter on the roof as per usual, he glanced to the side to witness a carrier plane hauling a pedal glider, heading for the school. He had no more room in the apartment for it, so keeping it in the parking lot would work best. Chances are, people are gonna be wondering what the hell that dinky little thing was.
It would be fine, he mused. As long as no one tried to destroy it.
Then again, knowing this school, that was all too likely.
He stepped inside of the apartment. A year since he's been here, and yet nothing much changed. Tillie and Hettie were both sound asleep. It was still very early, so surely Surge was knocked out, too. The sun wasn't even fully up yet.
He snuck into the bedroom and cracked the door open with a light creak.
Yep, still asleep. He thought so.
He let a small smile grace his lips. A year. A year and nothing seemed to have changed. Goddamn, he missed this man like you wouldn't believe.
He tiptoed subtly and silently to the bed and took a seat right next to him. He then ran his hand through the other man's hair, awaiting his awakening.
It made every second feel like another hour.

Well. Doesn't look like too much time went by. Gone for a year and it's only been a few days? The hell?
Funny, that. I don't even feel all that different. Time-wise, I guess.
I'm even still on the roster. Heh. Hey, boss, Rouge, Arch, sorry I kinda flunked out for a while. Expect me to be on shift again first thing tonight. I'll even make up for it by buying you three a pizza or something, heh.

...
I wanted to apologize.
Yep. That's all.
[YEAH. HE'S STILL BAD AT APOLOGIES AND SUCKING UP. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT.
I guess at least he's manning up to some extent now? 8I]
